This looks the part, and while it has no build in logic for turning the LEDs on or off. The real problem with this is the centre contact is small unlike other readers which have a flat back, this created a problem with regular use, the centre of the iButtons become dented which renders them unreadable on the regular blue dot probes, and in the long term I suspect will make the iButton break completely.
I do like this for its looks, but I'm swapping it out with a flat reader with no LEDs because I couldn't drive the LEDs anyway and I'm having to replace everyone's iButtons as they can't use them on other readers any more.
